About The Book
Lizard’s Leap is a real place. It is in my backyard and the population in the village includes everyone in the story. They have been observed, studied, and obviously named. While their actions have been interpreted by an often too fertile imagination, the actual jump across the waterfall to the south village was witnessed by two intelligent, observant, perceptive and sober senior citizens. As my husband and I watched the activity around the lake (our pond), it became obvious to me that there was a very important story to be told. I was sure Carmen and Derrick, our grandsons, would love to hear about the pond and the Phrog House. When they were with us after dark and the solar lights inside the house would come on, Carmen would announce that the “Phrogs are home!”, and Derrick would follow the lizards around pointing. Now we have two new grands to share the legend with. Grace Anne and Abram Foster have joined our family and will be an important part of keeping the legend alive. So, as stated on page one of this story, this legend will be passes down through generations of their children and the children of many cousins, friends, neighbors and maybe others will be inspired to build their own ponds and enjoy the critters who choose to live there.
